QBR

I was lazy and had to do a QBR. I essentially copy and pasted from last quarters and updated some info. Am I lazy or is this something everyone does? To be fair, I didn't want to do it...lol

Customer QBRs help you sell more. Why would you not want to make more money?

Isn't QBR for CSMs? Are you a CSM? Why are you intentionally acting lazy? Is your age 36? (hint: your username)

Internal QBR. Believe me, no intention of being lazy.

If it's internal and it enables you to get some coaching and/or traction on deals, then definitely highlight areas where you are requesting support.
If it's external and used as a levelset with the customer and an opportunity to introduce more business to them that will bring value, I wouldn't make a practice out of mailing it in.

Was this internal or was it customer facing?

This sounds internal which is somewhat of a waste of time.
If external, then you wasted a good selling opportunity.

If it’s internal it’s often not very helpful and usually just an extended pipeline review. If that is the case you wouldn’t spend too much time on it.

If they are typically useful in your company then spend time on it.

Basically, manage your time towards that helps you make your quota. The activities that help, spend time on it. The activities that don’t, spend as little time as possible.

Internal sales QBRs can be repetitive indeed but I like being reminded of the big picture and further out in the quarter what are the strategic decisions I'd need to move the deal. If you didn't wanna do it, it's very likely that what you're asked to bring to that QBR and the advise you get are always the same. Try to think of "what am I/are we not doing now?". Obviously same question can be asked across all areas of the business but particularly narrow it down to your tasks and see what you're bringing to QBR could spark mutual conversation with the team and always refer back to previous QBRs, what were discussed then and what made to reality 3 months later
