Rant - An organisation with frequent changes

Hey guys,

I know I am not super active here but I watch what's happening carefully. Loving what you guys are doing with this community, I'll try to be more active here!

Coming to the point of the post.

I know things are not going well in most territories for now but here we are, my company is making changes like no other.

Changing our sales tool, markets are tough and now they increased targets by 50% in the last quarter of 2023.

New cadences daily, new ways of outreach weekly, new content for emails almost every other day.

Team members changing + Hiring new folks. New initiatives, working on Event leads and what not, even the content is being closely looked at after 4 years of being in the system.

I was the in the top 1% earlier and even now I know I can be there again, after managing a team, it's just taking up all the bandwidth to be honest and not really sure if I see a way out.

What do you suggest? If you were there, what would you do?

Come on over to medical capital equipment side of the world! Waaaaaay less stressful and the product is necessary not a widget:).
Typically when companies are struggling like this they do implement change exactly like youโ€™re seeing.

Eh thereโ€™s a lot of consolidation where large buying groups, peโ€™s etcโ€ฆ are buying up hospitals so itโ€™s not quite what it used to be but itโ€™s still super non stress 150-250k yr job. Salaries start at 100k commish 50-80 kind of thing

Looking like it may be time for a new home. Surprising to see an overhaul during this market. Seems like leadership is changing shit just to change shit

Even though the company is growing, the changes seem redundant. Sales org gets effected the most. Not even taking a buy-in before making a decision as big as changing the out reach tool.

though it is a rough landscape out there, good salespeople will always find a home. that said the devil you know is better than the devil you don't and given you have performed and done well it's nice to be able to guide through rough waters. how annoyed are you on a scale of 1-10? and if it's less than 5 probably worth it to stay

Some great suggestions! Right now it feels like a 9 but I know in a while it'll be a 3.

Just when you start feeling you know the organization and their style of working and then BAM!

Intense scrutiny usually comes when sales as a whole are down and they are scrambling to fix things quickly. Some scrutiny isn't a bad thing, but micromanagement can shift focus and be very painful.

Add that to trying something new every day or week, and it's no bueno.

Might be time to look elsewhere, but keep at it while you do .

Agreed! Some scrutiny might be needed from a broader business view, but going through emails, call recordings, and changing tools is something that takes a toll on the team. How can I expect my SDRs to even keep up with all of this?

Nothing wrong with coaching and being able to adjust messaging, etc. But when it becomes tasks for the sake of doing tasks, the thread has been lost.

If it appears there is nothing set in stone, change is often what is set in stone.
Change can be good if it is addressing actual issues to help you sell better. If it is for the sake of change, that is not a good thing and "shiny object syndrome" as others mention

I think it's the latter now. Things are changing for the sake of changing.
Need to figure shit out.
