In Q4 2022, 3 in 10 revenue leaders in tech decided to lower their sales teams’ quota as a precautionary measure to the macroeconomic trends. And by how much, you ask?


At least a whopping 20% or more!


Now, don't get me wrong, this was a sweet deal for us salespeople. But even after reducing targets, these leaders only managed to hit 75% of their 2022 revenue goals (compared to 90% in non-tech)



So, what did they do to make up for the 25% shortfall? Well, brace yourselves - they gave the boot to a quarter of their sales team. Yep, you heard that right.


Talk about balancing the budget, eh?

It's super attainable though.

I sell software into the education space. We also aren't commissioned. Our measurement was mostly based on output.

And we got quota raised by 10% and out of 40 ppl only 10 people hit or close to 50%- 100%+ quota attainment for Q1...bad start and not looking good for rest of the year.
