Recently got an offer for a company lower than I was expecting, however I said yes (I haven’t started yet). Another company made me a much higher offer- both companies are great. Is it bad to leave the one I said “yes” to?

Companies rescinded offer letters to people that planned their lives around that job starting. Don't feel bad for jumping ship before you start either. Take the money.

how much more is company 2 offering?

Any red flags are company 2?

If pay was equal, where would you rather be?

Company 2 is offering 20k more (base) and 20k more on OTE

Both companies are great, either one works (if pay was the same)

Do your best not to burn bridges when you turn offer 1 down. You can explain you unexpectedly received a much higher offer, and you going to take it. Then take it.

Congratulations. It’s a nice problem to have.

Take care of numero uno. That's what they'd do.
There have been so many news stories of companies pulling offers right before the start date when notice has already been given.

If you like the first company more, you could let them know you got a higher offer and at least pitch them the idea of matching it. If they offered much lower than you expected, they probably know they're underpaying for the role already.

I would disagree, let them know yes, but its a rocky start and youl be expected to do 20k more energy level

Look after number 1(You). Companies rescind offers and do trashy shit all the time. Weigh the pros/cons and accept the other offer.

No. It's all transactional. Be respectful in your bye-bye note, and go what suits you.
They have a "pipeline" usually when they are hiring for a role, so should you when you are looking to join a company.

Go for it.

just let them know you got a better offer. You do not want to wste their time and resources to train you and then leave so you'll not join their org

As long as you're okay never working at that company you say no to, please go for it, yes!

Canceled businesses send letters to people who plan their lives around the job. There’s no need to feel bad about jumping ship before you get started. Collect money.

you need to tell them the truth, I received another offer for 20k more, then tell them you are accepting their offer and leave it on the best terms you can.

Nope. Just like they are looking out for their best interest, you are looking out for yours. If anything, I would let them know the reason you're not accepting their offer and give them the option to counter (they probably won't)

Politely decline your lower offer and go for the better option. In worse times any company would kick you out with the blink of an eye and in the end it’s a business agreement not a marriage

Negotiation 101 - be honest, and pit the ones against each other. Unless it's like a 30k base difference, if the person wants you on their team, they will find a way to match it.

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldn’t be in for very long. They’re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now I’m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldn’t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.

Connection got me an interview that I otherwise wouldnt have gotten because of field change, not due to intellect or abilities. Position is managerial and, from what I gathered, stated salary plus bonus. Should I negotiate, which I always do, or go with what they offer?
