Interesting we are getting this question a lot lately.

Due to the fact, there is some serious talent overseas. The ones that are available in here are exploiting employees big time!

Too complicated to hire someone outside of the US to support the US market.

In your opinion, what those might be?

Why would I hire someone abroad? I'll need to to worry about visas, taxes, legal and compliance issues, logistics, etc.

Why are you better and worth the hassle vs a local candidate?

The sales roles that are outsourced outside US are low skilled and low wage. In those cases the hoops may be worth jumping through.

Completely the oppositeโ€ฆ.

There are no benefits or taxes or anything else to worry about with foreign employees

Especially with Deel and ontop, for example, tools that make paying super easy for foreign โ€œemployeesโ€

I'm in the same boat. Left the US a couple of years ago (thanks 2020!) and haven't been able to find anything decent working remotely. Living abroad where cost of living is much less than in the US, I am willing to go for a less-than-average paying jobs, however that typically means 500-1000 candidates per job offer. Plus I kind of suck at interviews.
I wish I had a tip or an advice for you but I got nothing, keep looking. I use the search keyword "anywhere in the world" on Indeed or LinkedIn, that sometimes pulls the jobs not restricted to the US.

That's the issue man - you do get a few interviews here and there but those are just not the kind of opportunities! I guess might as well try EMEA when searching on Linkedin

Happy to helpโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve gotten Colombians hired at Us based companies for $5k base

At Apollo, latam reps make anywhere between $2.5k to $4k per month base plus 6% of everything they sell with $40k to $100k quotas

It will be super difficult because it is much easier for companies to hire inside US so they donโ€™t have to deal with the external factors

What might be those external factors? When we already have global HR solutions like Remote.com, Deel, and more to handle those complexities. BTW, quite a few US based SaaS companies are already leveraging these platforms to recruit international talent e.g. Developers, Product Managers, Marketing and Accounting professionals etc

Well for starters, it will cost the company extra money to use those solutions when they could just hire within the US and not deal with it

Itโ€™s cheaper jajaja

No benefits or taxes, just base and commission

Plus, nowhere in the world do people get paid as much as the US

Apollo.io has 50%+ of their team based in LATAM and they just got their series C and are now a unicorn

They hired 17 people through my company!

All in Mexico and or Colombia

Don't apply for US jobs. There are plenty of companies in every other country in the world. Also, lots of companies will have EMEA and APAC regions. That would make way more sense.

I run a recruiting business hiring people from LATAM for us based companies

HUUUUGE need for this right now sinc salaries are obviously lower literally everywhere else.

I see some comments say that youโ€™d have to worry about taxes and benefits but in fact itโ€™s completely the oppositeโ€ฆ they DONT have to pay taxes or benefits and can easily hire you as a full time contractor

Especially with companies like Deel or OnTop to help with payments!

Feel free to hit me up, I might even be able to help you land something with one of our clients :)

Hey @Sgt.Pepper

I'm interested in knowing a little bit more about this.

I'm new in Bravado, so I don't know how to reach out privately!

Look forward on hearing back from you.

tbh----it's the pay!

Opportunities are available but the compensation is ridiculous! When you're working in the same market, have the experience, and the fact that after Pandemic working remotely unlocked borderless opportunities......then why not?

Enterprise orgs will have some support in place for SaaS companies. I also worked at a startup that hired overseas reps but not AEs, support and eng.

That's why more and more companies are setting up contractual outsourcing or using staffing services to get offshore talent onboard that way.

However, there's a lot of pay and benefits abuse that happens behind closed doors.

US companies donโ€™t commonly engage in this because of the legal scrutinization involved.

if you want to work in the US, get past the need to require a Visa Sponsorship.
