Renewal Commission %?

For all the AE's out there that also get comped on renewals, what is your commission rate for renewals?

Do you have a straight % of the total contract? or only if there is an upsell?

There is some chit chat about this in my org as we get ready for next year and im curious what others are seeing.

My CSM gets comp on renewals, and a bonus based on upsells. I share growth accounts with CSDs and it's nice to have a teammate for upsells within a complex org.

I do not get comped on renewals at growth companies, and 3% is what our CSDs get.

Yes, kind of used interchangeably with CSM. And I did just that in the post.

So we used to get paid for upsells but not for renewals but now things have changed again. We are given a few months after we close a deal and if we can upsell within that time range , great or else CSM gets to close it and earn!

what does the CSM earn?

They get some %. It’s lower than AE. So I assume this is a cost saving strategy and we have been asked to focus only on net new from now

I get 2.25% on renewals and get my normal commission rate on the increase in price.

So if the previous contract was 60k and now its 65k. I get 2.25% on 65k and my normal rate on the 5k

I just don’t get paid on it unless it’s an upsell. But we have renewals managers for the basic renewal
