Sales AE vs Marketing

When you close a deal, lead was generated by AE -> cold email sent by AE - > Proper relationship was established by AE and presales -> Contract was closed by AE worth of 2 Million Dollar.


when marketing team tries to share the credit for this deal. What you will do ?

I would try to figure out why they're taking some credit for it. Have a paper trail proving that you did the cold outreach, got the demo, closed the deal.

Usually marketing is trying to take credit because they feel like they had some influence on the deal... what you mentioned I don't understand how they'd have a leg to stand on here.

During felicitation it happened, when management was congratulating the AE and presales.

marketing Manager stepped in and conveyed " It was honored that my team had helped the ground sales to make this deal happen as a single team"

and we were left in a awestruck position, couldn't shout "what u guys did" with over 700 participants over meeting.
