Sales deck vs. No sales deck?

intro call - whether from an SDR generated lead or self-prospecting, etc.

do you use a sales deck?

do you want to?

do you have to?

I just got off a call with a fellow AE from a different company than mine that mentioned they don’t use sales decks because it takes away from the conversational aspects of the meeting.

what about you?

Sales decks, yay or nay?

For intro calls like you described, i try not to. I try to probe and ask them questions rather than shoving product/sales slides in their face.

once you find out the pain/solution that they want, present slides on the next call to provide the suggested solution to the clients needs. & similar to JuicyClay, i keep it short on the slides.

If I'm going to use a deck, it's never more than 7 slides and a lot of times just 1 or 2. Sometimes I'll just set the slide as my Zoom virtual background and present that way.

If you use a sales deck you should use it to guide the conversation, not dictate the flow. If you get tripped up by a question that can't be answered by the deck then you are relying on the deck too much.

No for introductory calls. Use the master slide to pull in requisites after knowing painpoints 💯

I built my own single page infographic that I use to talk through our corporate overview and value prop. I made it myself because I abhor the "death by powerpoint" thing and the decks marketing makes are trash and insanely long.
