SALES MOTIVATION

Good evening dear colleagues,

I think we all had a moment of drought, a moment that no matter what nothing is sold... business does not come out and it is a strong blow to your moral , those moments that make you think if I did something wrong or just this business is not for me.

Many times they indicate that sellers are masters and lords of resilience, that we have inexhaustible spirits... but I think I speak for everyone when I indicate that this is not the case...

That is why I would like to know, if you have any motivational technique, something that makes you overcome bad times or bad moments, those moments after making 100 calls and getting 100 NO in a row.

I listen to you, any opinion is valid, I think it would be unparalleled information for the group

So pleas don´t by shy hehe, maybe yoga, a movie, songs, poker game, video games, I don´t know.. please share what do u do.

Meditation. And a long walk outside, in nature if you can, preferably with a dog.

Everyone has these days. If they say they've never experienced it I internally roll my eyes.

Don't beat yourself up. Take this as a sign and schedule a personal day asap. You may need a lil more than a walk around the block 😉

What would you advise to do on that day off?

Look for simple wins, either professionally or personally. A good workout, talk with a good friend, something with the family or just making your bed/cleaning the house.

You need to establish a baseline happy place. Sounds hokey but it’s true. Retreat to that and rebuild.

Thank you very much for the advice, I think many of us need to hear that we all go through this at some point and the solution may be simpler than you think.

I think first you have to recognize what is happening and then tell you self that this is NORMAL. It’s going to happen, and it will happen again and again and again. So don’t be surprised. Find an activity that gets your mind off of it, (something physically active is what i suggest) and then try to have lots of positive self talk and focus on the good things that have also happened

I compare sales to baseball a lot, helps me to remember that even the greats go through hitting slumps… so long as I’m a career .300 hitter everything will work out fine.

mmm Yes, but I think: without motivation it is difficult to maintain discipline and without motivation in the end the routine becomes something that suffocates you and you do it in a bad way.

I'm in a drought as we speak, I keep forcing myself to return to the basics. Proper sleep, food, hydration are generally places that need attention, and I try to remove myself from the desk when I'm hitting the wall.

I also have an adhd brain so I need to stay extremely vigilant on my mental state and maintain calendar discipline. Staying calm and mentally neutral is key for me. Emotions and challenges can rapidly spiral, and when I'm in that state of "overwhelm" I can never figure out what my "next step" is and I freeze.

Luckily my manager says I'm a handsome young man and to keep up the good work. (despite her own stress levels likely being higher than mine)

I understand, let me give you some advice, each person has their own fights, thinking that your problems or stress are inferior to someone else's is not correct, each of us is a different universe, we have different friends, different knowledge, different tools that we can use and maybe a big problem for you, for others it is something as simple as throwing the garbage. Just make an effort and keep going, everything will turn out well, never lose heart and remember that we all have bad things or things about ourselves that we don't like, but hey... that makes us unique and makes us who we are.

For me, rest is the key. I take time to relax my self, do some meditation, like to see what I love - spending time with family, watching content, eating etc etc and I tell myself tomorrow is going to be awesome and better that today. Recharged.

I'm coming off of two weeks of no demos set. Either an inability to get face time or rejection after rejection. For me it's just a matter of knowing that a lot of that is often out of my control. The right place/right time will come again and I'll have another 10 demo week like I did three weeks ago.

In terms of decompressing and clearing my head, the weight room is my savior. Time with my wife and kids. Time outside.

Turn your perceived 'failures' into knowing that you did something. Got a no on a call? You've completed that call, which is something accomplished. Had a deal fall through in redlines? You've now learned something to double check ahead of time next time.

While nothing beats the sweet [imaginary] sound of a deal closing, what you show up and do everyday still carries weight, is still work that you've done, so treat it like so.

If you're a visual person, do a kanban board or the like and make a card for each call or major activity (only takes about 2 seconds). When you see all these cards start stacking up in the 'completed' bucket, that's a heck of a thing.
