Salesloft best practices

Howdy, I saw an earlier post about sales automation tools, much appreciated there, but it got me thinking about my salesloft outreaches. Those savages out there that use similar tools, what's the secret sauce to increase your open rates/reply rates?

After playing around a bit, I like to make sure I personalize about 40-50% of my emails, but am still nervous about getting sent to spam. How do you all get around this and what have you done to see the most success out of your cadences?

^ I agree. Text only emails. Minimal links.

As far as open and reply rates (which is what matters after deliverability)
- minimal links in email, if any
- less than 100 words
- be brief, and get to the point
- have an informed opinion ie a clear why for your reach out

Definitely mix in calls with your cadences.

This is what i try to do, be brief, should be able to easily read on outlook app on the phone compared to viewing the email on the computer

Make sure they know what you are selling and why they should consider your product and connect with you in a few sentences. If they are confused or there’s no value for them, you’re getting binned.

I get a fair amount of cold outreach, most of it completely irrelevant and a good deal of it incomprehensible. If I was actually a DM, I still wouldn’t engage.

The trifecta! All sales come down to these three things.

I am not a fan, but I have seen my fellow colleagues use tricks like reducing links / hyperlinks to your email. That reduces the chance of hitting spam.

They also try really short subject lines. Not more than 4 words, mostly. That works wonders nonetheless. They have 3 different cadences for different personas and similar tricks.

I have some quick emails in cadences but typically try to keep everything very short and sweet. First email is usually specifically tailored to the prospect and I reference it when I cold call into the account (just click the email tab to find your first one).

But avoid buzz words and links or things like asking for 15 mins or some gifting language like sending a gift card. Your overall goal is to zig where the rest of the people sending outreach are zagging.

My overall goal is to get them on the phone, but I view email as working in the background.

Hopefully that helps.

To add what have been said already.

Be sure to validate emails through Neverbounce or similar tool first. Data providers like Seamless, Zoominfo, Apollo etc. are far from perfect.

Second make sure your subject line doesn’t reveal everything the email is about. If you do the recipient has no reason to open your email. Ideally, your subject to be one or two words that show the theme of the emails, but it make the recipient wonder what exactly you’re talking about, so they have to open the email to find out.

Much too often we try to capture the whole message of the e-mail in the subject line, but you don’t actually want that.

Also, don’t capitalize the first letter in the subject line, make it look imperfect, as it makes it look like something you just threw together not a marketing email.

Finally, make sure the idea of the email is that you want to learn from them about their business and problems. We all tend to make our outreach about us and how the prospect should get on a call to learn about us and our fabulous solution. Newsflash, nobody gives a shit about you and your solution. They care about themselves and their problem and how the hell they are going to solve them.

If you send emails about how you’re gonna solve their problems it seems disingenuous because you haven’t even taken the time to learn about their situation, so how would you know that you can solve their problems?

This is great! I didn’t know about Neverbounce too, so thanks for that
