If you asking the product's ability to have a super high renewal %, I would go with large enterprise softwares.

Mainly an ERP, because all the work it takes to implement and the millions of dollars spent on implementation alone would lead to many CFOs renewing even if they are not the happiest with the product's performance.

Copy this. Anything expensive to adopt and implement is forced sticky.

Is your @ related to what you sell? Something green tech? Curious, mostly.

Me? No my @ is supposed to be a play on a basketball player named Kosta Koufas, who is my picture, and combined it with Confucius.

Similar to Kosta building automation controls is pretty sticky. Itโ€™s not proprietary, but it can take a lot of cost to change manufacturers, train on the new product, user interface, tooling, etc.

Variable refrigerant flow, for those who know what that is, has proprietary controls includes so you are stuck with that for the life of the system once installed.

Anything a company needs to have in order to be in business. As Kosta said, ERP or things like PIM for retailers, CMS for any, CRM. If it's delivered with a 3 year term, then you're in for the long haul and they'll have a hard time peeling off at the end, unless you've really screwed it up as a company. Look for a company with good CSX and account management with good customer satisfaction.

Getting someone off their current setup? Find out when that expiration is, work toward uprooting it for as long as it takes, and provide an alternate that solves issues they're experiencing either with their current solution or in spite of it and will give them enough added benefit that they'll undergo the transition.
