Taking a Break

What do you guys find most relaxing when you need that 24hr break from client interactions. I dont think ive had my phone off for 2 and a half months at this point. I love the success but would love some ideas on takinga a break for a day or two!

love it. we use the Amex for the Hilton points and end up getting a few free nights from our normal spending.
it works well for us!

Reminds me of the "2-2-2" rule with spouses.

Date night every 2 weeks.
Overnight trip every 2 months.
Week long vacay every 2 years.

I do something similar to this, but it’s a little more time off. I do one week for my birthday and 2 weeks for my wife’s birthday and our anniversary. We then take long weekend trips over holiday weekends and use a floating holiday to extend one of the weekends a bit.

Super common issue with those of us who feel pressured to be constantly available.
There are also a lot of posts about this very subject - you may see some interesting ideas for consideration if you search for them.

Weaning myself off the electronic tether took discipline. The world will not end if I’m out of pocket during lunch. Or after hours. Exceptions are for active sales engagements that have some timing requirements. But other than that, step away. It’s essential.

I'm totally fine turning off, tbh. Outside of working hours, I will almost never answer a phone call or email.

Honestly, it's why I have a work phone and a personal phone. It's very easy to maintain separation that way.

I try to be away from my laptop. Go out, have a great food, enjoy wine and movie night!

I’d settle for a round of golf at this point 😂

Take a day trip somewhere and eat at a new restaurant. After that, go buy you a pair of new shoes for your off time. Have fun.

I go off grid. That way there's no possible way I can be connected.

Ditto. off grid is the only sure proof way to disconnect.

Golf trip, riverboat gambling trip, Hike in nature, Weekend ski trip. Many more but really the first step is turning the phone off.

I have found that getting into the outdoors is great. You find the right spot and you wont be able to use your phone even if you want to. Add in a tough hike and you will be too tired to think about anything else but taking a nap.

I like to just take a day or so to golf...just gives me something else to be upset about
