nope. The price is what it is. I can go higher if they'd like

nope that is not how it works. I used to tell my prospects this is a fair price for the value and that we did not do discounts. However, I sometimes added a service for free. But the prices would never be lowerd.

Not where I work. We're having our big end of month push and the word from the top is offer any and all discounts up to 90% if it gets them to agree to buy a subscription to the software.

To be fair, it's a discount for only for three months (the subs are monthly, not annual) but if they downgrade or cancel after those three months, the churn hits the AM team, not us.

Yeah it works. Just put some fat on the first quote. After that you can use that fat to give something away.

You can tell your manager youโ€™re great at upselling as well :)

Rock paper scissors.

You win, price goes down 5%.

I win, it goes up 5%.

Depends on what you sell. 5 star resort does not compare to a hostel. Sell on value.

We do not bend on pricing unless there are specific deliverables the prospect meets, extended term, signing in Q, providing a case study/press release etc.

It's give/get. Every so often, I've had a customer not negotiate the price or terms at all, but that is very uncommon. Often there's something they want from us (net-45 rather than net-30 payment type, for example) which holds the price. However, if they are asking for a discount but can give me something I want (reference, case study, use of logo), then I can provide a discount to them in return for them providing my request.

We don't discount unless they buy multiple products and if they wait too long we raise the price. Premium product = premium price

Yeah I sell some products that are commoditized and there are lots of competitors. Sometimes you have to get aggressive to get the job unfortunately .
