1.) Gong thinks they know what sells vs doesn’t and loves to call reps out on calls with management and say they aren’t doing a good job2.) Puke worthy social media 3.) I hate them

Interesting take. I’ve always been a fan and found their research compelling since they have so much data to back it up. I also find the product extremely helpful.

Gong sucks. Anything coming out of them other than Bankruptcy is not worth looking at.

The post probably has some truth to it but very poorly delivered.

See a lot of hate on gong in here? Do they have a toxic culture or something? Curious I wasn’t expecting that

Ahh the classic in office v remote debate. probably is worth while to go into an office every once in a while if there's access to it, but no need to force everyone back in. To each their own.

Really sad to see leading companies falling prey to backwards ideology.

Nobody believes people want to live in Chicago and commute to work daily. One of the most insanely expensive cities there is.

While gong sucks, I kind of miss having an office every now and them. It would break up the working from home.

Helpful for SDRs to be in office ... Maybe. But it's the way then that Gong culture is built. Everyone's shitty to each other outside office is how I would read it.

LoLz I see posts like this from Dell VP’s as well. “Spent time in our Nashville office today with the sales team… Nothing like that human connection!” Meanwhile, they cut the field AE’s allowable expenses to $1k per quarter (including mileage). Silly. Glad I got out of there.

I led the Gong Strategic team for 3.5 years, was an early client at Zix and use the solution today at my current company. I am happy to discuss the pros & cons with anyone. From my perspective, when implemented correctly and utilized properly by the sales team, there is not any better solution to improve sales and increase revenue.

As far as WFH vs the Office - if you don't want to work from an office than do not apply to a role that includes this.

IMO, most tech companies are moving to a hybrid solution, especially for SDR and early in career sellers. There is data that points to increased productivity for these roles in an office, around their peers, manager and other company resources.
Go ahead and hate me now......

It was more so how the guy who originally posted on LinkedIn admitted at the bottom of his post literally encouraged others to craft a narrative in favor of return to office which knowingly decreases net the quality of life and net earnings for workers in an era where inflation is rampant and homes are unaffordable. So it’s not a stretch to argue that crafting that narrative could play an insignificant yet intentional role to lower competition and wages for sales people. Which is not really all that chill. Also the irony of a solution that is supposed to enable remote work not actually working remote… that’s just that. But idk why people hate gong, that’s news to me

Is the hate about Gong literally their social media presence? Have any of you worked there or just blind hating? Honestly curious not trying to flame.

I think 70% of shops just like most places have poor quota attainment. Maybe you got in at the right place? Even saw an outreach offer letter that was around 45k in nyc (remember bodega bro?)

As a junior SDR or Junior AE if I had the chance to hang out with senior colleagues, VP Sales, Team Leads and so on, I’d pressure them to have beers with me and talk sales till the break of dawn 🏆

Making 40k in a big city when you’re starter home is going to cost 900k? Sounds lit
