"The Dundies" awards ideas?

Savages, some great news from our management - we have an offsite booked for late May at a nice seaside spot :)

The sales team and I are in charge of hosting a sort of "Dundies Awards" thing, so we appreciate any and all ideas (wrong ideas welcome too) for all kinds of awards.

Especially interested in some wacky awards for SDRs, AEs, PreSales, Partnerships, CSM, Marketing, HR etc, you know, the "soft skills" people :)

If any of you has had the chance to host something like this - I wanna hear from you, what did go great and what did go wrong.

Thank you all in advance for brainstorming with me!

P.S Bit of context: I`m working with an HR Tech Enterprise SaaS company.

I helped our CMO with our Christmas party and we did awards centered around quirky personal characteristics...

EX: "We are presenting Dave with the "Around the world" award because even though he believes the world is flat...he's always around to lend a hand".

Yes - we had an employee who believed the world was flat, everyone knew it, and he attended flat earth conferences.

You can make these realllllly funny. I'm guessing you'll have alcohol but it's a great way to liven up the party.

We had about 15 people at the time so it was hysterical to see everyone get slightly embarrassed but never offended.

My advice is to keep it light. Highlight ONLY the positive. If you can’t think of something positive about every person, then you should rethink doing the event.

We had something kind of like this at a previous company, all the employees got to vote for who got which award. It was going good until one girl got really offended because she only received 1 award which was akin to a participation trophy, and even the guy she makes fun of for being so stupid all the time got more. It ended with her in tears and management coddling her and giving her some BS extra award 😂
