Trying to make inroads

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get my foot in the door in the SaaS industry. I've taken training courses, but I've been having no luck. I've had sales experience before, details of which are on my linkedin (feel free to reach out there as well). I signed up to sell solar panels, but I'm torn on where to spend my time effectively.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Should I continue the job search in SaaS, or pursue Solar sales?

A. Your LinkedIn link does not work (at least for me)
B. The name looks like porno...no action item, I just thought you should know.

C. Is the solar panels at least B2B? If it's B2C then take whatever B2B sales job you can find b/c that sounds like walking the street and selling Netflix subscriptions with a 40k/mo quota.

Look for ANYTHING B2B and if it happens to be software, great! If it's hardware/commodities, nothing wrong with that too. A lot of room to run in different industries, but you want to be selling into organizations with real money.

The solar gig is B2C, no commission, no quota. But yeah Iโ€™ll look into other B2B options!

Who you selling solar for? Real company or a local taco truck dropping off door knockers from good to hood?

Check out some people's experiences with Solar by searching the War Room. There are sketchy operators out there.

LinkedIn link doesn't work. Do what pays you bill effectively.
Getting inroad into SaaS could be a little difficult, but is not entirely impossible. Keep pushing harder, while you also keep earning through solar panels (like Filth said, should be B2B at least).
Keep a source of income steady while you try to push through SaaS.

Yeah thatโ€™s a good point, nothing wrong with doing both.

Not clicking your LI profile.

But neither SaaS nor solar are bad moves. Neither are going away. But not all SaaS is the same. Nor is there anything special to selling SaaS, despite what some would have you think.

With a last name like mine, I donโ€™t blame you! And yeah, either way I go Iโ€™ll be content Iโ€™m sure.

Nothing wrong with selling solar while you look for tech opportunities.
And the training courses may or may not pay off - not sure what you're taking, but they'd have to be directly applicable to the industry you're targeting, or they're just another cert. Networking is the gold standard for finding a tech sales job.

Yeah, schools can go either way, but the instructors have made a concerted effort to try and get me a job, so thatโ€™s something. And yeah, I gotta network more.
