VPs missing interviews

I've interviewed at quite a few companies and in three of the interview cycles, a VP or 2 flat no showed on the interview. I got a job offer on the first two. Maybe they felt guilty? :D

Nope. Not wasting my time if they can't be bothered.

That's kinda messed up, and likely indicative of bad things culture-wise.

They should own up to it and be very apologetic if it happens. But it shouldn't happen.

Yeah, it's like they had to fill a space on their calendar with an interview. Not saying anything against you, I just think that is shady and throws a flag for me.

Was it a team interview, where there are multiple people and the hiring team is throwing a bunch of people into a call?

Or were these 1:1s?

I think one was an interview loop and another just flat missed it. They were super apologetic, just busy. i'm wondering if they offered me as a bribe "like don't say crap and you got a job"

Honestly, it happens.

I don't think they'd consider onboarding you if they weren't interested. Maybe they figured they really blew it by not showing up, when they wanted you all along.

Are you interested in either offer?

Were there other people on the call? If its a 1:1 with the VP and they no call no show, I would be annoyed to say the least

Frustrating, but since you got the offers maybe its for the best (?)

I wouldn't join a company like that - unless they have a solid reason for not showing up to the calls. Shows how NOT serious they are about you / your position.

No shot I'd ever join a company where the VP is missing interviews

That's super disrespectful. Idk if I'd put up with that

straight up no showing means I don't want to work for them.

If they're running late, or reach out saying they need to reschedule because something came up, that's one thing. But straight up no showing tells me that as my manager they'll never be available either.

if leadership doesn't show for a scheduled interview, I'm out. 60% of the time it works every time
