What a shit Q1

Been a minute since I was active on here. For those curious on my backstory, check this post: https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/update-last-day-next-friday-what-do


Since then:

  • Was told two weeks ago the position I left for doesn't exist due to gov't contracts. I was strung along since early January saying March at the latest.
  • My unemployment claim was denied because I "voluntarily left" for a new job.
  • Dishwashing/prepping at a restaurant 5-6 days a week.


The good news is a family member got me a part-time job as an account manager for an electronics company. Although it's more just a placeholder to help me out.


Does anyone see any decent job postings or advice? I've been hammering LinkedIn but not much success.

Last post was about CSM and AM roles only; @BTQ you can check that out.

What works for me in job search; is to go all in. I am sure you’re doing the same thing but the quickest way is through your own network. Ask for referrals. Lots of AE, CSM, and AM jobs but I get that the competition might be tough as well.

Last piece of advice which has helped a couple of my friends to land a job after layoff was that they posted a great LinkedIn post about their layoff or in your case being strung for months and people helped them out.

I hope this turns around quickly for you, best of luck.

Fuck man, that's REAL shitty. I was thinking that this post was about subpar performance but this is a load of hot garbage.

Can you appeal the unemployment claim?! There has to be a human element you can try and talk to cuz this ain't right.

I appealed. Supposedly there’s going to be a fact finding call with me, my former employer and a govt agent. I really wanna keep good terms with my former boss so I can still use them as a reference but I need this $ for rent that I’m like 4 months behind on.

Rent absolutely trumps any possible reference requirements. A lot of companies don’t even bother, or just use it as a confirmation of employment.

Check in the logistics software space if you can too, I don't have specific names but they probably don't make a whole lot of top SAAS lists. A lot of room for actual sales pros in a world of freight guys with no idea how to sell. It's how I made a quick name for myself at my org. The industry has a lot of dinosaurs to sell into that has big upside and growth potential with a disciplined sales approach.
