Say it with me: Crypto is an unsecured instrument that I should not consider compensating people with in a professional setting.

I'd be really fucking irritated if somebody made me set up a crypto wallet as a "reward."

Like thanks for giving me something that is rather difficult to turn into USD.

I've received my commissions in bitcoin before and I'm quite happy with it right now, It's neatly doubled and I haven't touched them and won't for a long time.

If you had the option to get cash, crypto, or stocks, I'd love to choose an option of the three. I've learned very recently that banks aren't meant to store money, they are meant to make transactions easier, banks DO NOTย  hold their equity in the bank, they are holding on to stocks and have hedgefund agents and are starting to get into the cryptocurrency economy.

I feel very ignorant about the topic and it shames me to admit I just learned most of what I just mentioned last week. SMH

Cash is king. If a visa gift card lets you avoid taxing it do that, but I always hated getting something I couldnโ€™t actually use. Keep in mind that as a BDR lots of us are still pretty broke.

Love the tax avoidance I've had on AmEx/Visa GC's.

Great point.

Lifetime OnlyFans account and $200 worth of Dodgecoin.ย

Seriously BDRs love it. SDRs not so much - but for inbound lead scoring rewards, I use the above listed.

I can tell who'll make the best AEs in the future based on how quickly they can convert the Doge into something useful.ย

Cause if you cant handle putting up with some conversion inconvenience bullshit to turn a minor hassle into USD$ - well - you shouldn't be in Sales.

Converting bullshit and problems to $$$ is the name of the game.ย

Maybe ask the rep what their favorite store is? Visa will work anywhere, but you can always find out where that person likes to shop and go from there.ย

Visa and Amazon. You can use Visa gift cards anywhere, and EVERYONE uses Amazon. I don't know how people would get tired of Amazon, but I can see how people would get tired of Starbuck's. I personally don't drink coffee so I would have more trouble than most using that gift card. I wish I would have had a boss like you when I was a BDR! Those are some fantastic prizes. How often do you give these out?

Usually run monthly contests. Frequency depends on leadership/budget/business cycles etc.

I don't use Amazon. I work in the ecommerce space so I'd be a fucking idiot to continue to fund my own destruction.

Giving somebody crypto is giving them a chore. Giving them an Amazon gift card makes them give Bezos money. Giving them a gift card or cash lets them do whatever they want.

Iโ€™d never force crypto as a reward if there was no interest from the team. Itโ€™s popular right now and without any friction in transferring I wouldnโ€™t call it a โ€œchoreโ€ but appreciate the feedback. Just looking for different ideas

Potentially an unpopular opinion and may start a fight but... why are you giving your BDRs prizes?

Depending on how they're paid, you're literally paying them already to do a job and generate income for the company... I've never understood "prizes" in professional settings. Pay me more cash money. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Totally get your point lol Itโ€™s pretty standard to run contests and give prizes to help push the team during certain periods. Just looking to get creative with it

Totally understand and I'd never say no to a GC or "prize" but it's more of a general concern of why people need an extra push to do their job better.

I see this used a lot with younger teams but gotttttt damnnnnn the work ethic on some of these kids. Just do your fucking job. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿป

Donโ€™t get me started haha I agree 100%. The team is definitely younger so these contests are effective. Usually older sales members have the work ethic built in without the need for these extra cushy prizes ๐Ÿ˜‚

Is it only monetary? Ask them what they want. Some of the best incentives I've had weren't cash, but activities like a booze cruise or wine tasting. Maybe they want cash, idk. I'd just say ask
