Pretty sure that's the case in Ontario. Any reported income ends the claim.

I do think there is a $ exception. I believe you can work some part time roles and still get unemployment- you just can’t earn too much.

Many moons ago when I was laid off during the dotcom bust/post-9-11 slump, I augmented my unemployment by waiting tables again. I had a mortgage to pay and a new baby to feed. That supplemental income was clutch until I could finally find a sales role. This was CA and obviously eons ago, and certainly didn’t come close to OTE, but kept the lights on.

It was extremely challenging, and I don’t wish it on anyone. The job I ended up landing wasn’t good enough for me to stop working at the restaurant, so I was extremely tired. But - that shit sales job led to one of the best jobs I ever had, because one of my colleagues recommended me to get an interview when he found a better job. That’s why I tell people to always do their best, even when the job isn’t all that. You never know who’s watching and who might be in a position to give you a hand later on.
