What companies do YOU want to work for? Homework never stops, so start researching top companies on ReVue, Glassdoor, etc, and make your shortlist. We can confirm or deny based on what you come back with.

^This. Your first job as a sales person is prospecting a company and selling yourself. This is literally the first step of the interview process for any sales roles.

No one is going to Dox themselves for who they work for now. But really what you are looking for would be something to find on RepVue

Hey look! The top contributing member of this site commented what you said, mashed it with some other things that were already said, and made it their own comment.

LMAO you sir, are one of my favorites. There are only a handful of people on here that I feel could be great to know outside of the War Room and you are one.

Go somewhere that will train you well. That's the best thing you can do coming in fresh from school. Be willing to learn and grind it out.
Talk to reps who already work there to make sure you're not being sold bullshit by the hiring team.

Everyone has different goals. This is a very broad question and the best thing would you for you to find where you want to work, how much you want to earn and the list goes on.. all the best !

Sadly I doubt you'll get a lot of direct referrals as peeps on here tend to not want to dox themselves.
Take a look at Glassdoor for culture, Repvue for $, and LinkedIn to chat with current reps.
Good luck!

"Best" is very subjective when it comes to culture. You're going to have to sort that one out for yourself.
Pay - you'll need to research. Others have recommended RepVue and Glassdoor; I'd use those. Be realistic, though. You're just starting out. You're going to have to start and work up.

I once worked for a place that claimed to be "the best place our employees ever work." And in a way I guess they were. It was a very low-stress environment, and there was a lot of job security, especially for rank and file employees. But there was little opportunity for growth or advancement, even for the highest achievers. So if you wanted to be challenged and grow, it was definitely not the ideal place to work. But there were people who loved it, my former colleague is still there, going on almost 20 years now.

You're still young in your career. You can experiment a little and find out what kinds of organizations you like working for. Everybody is different.

I’d like to work for the Steelers, but they will not hire me to sling footballs as a back up quarterback*

You're a recent graduate. I'm assuming you might not be familiar with all the sales and industry lingo, so I'll break it down for you:

- TAM stands for Total Addressable Market, which means the entire potential customer base for a company. For example, if a company sells shoes, their TAM would be everyone who has feet and could potentially buy their shoes.

- OTE stands for On Target Earnings and refers to the total compensation a salesperson can expect to earn if they meet 100% of their sales quota.

- Quota is the sales target a salesperson is expected to hit

- Product Market Fit refers to how well a product or service meets the needs of the market it's intended for.

- RepVue is some website, where apparently some sales reps go to find information on the things mentioned above. God knows why. You can do yourself a favor and visit this instead -https://bravado.co/salaries/.

In sales, it's crucial to know your buyers and their needs. Make a list of businesses that you're a customer of or would like to be a customer of.

Second list can be of all the companies you want to work for regardless of what they sell, and what they offer.

The third list can be of all companies that pay well, have a strong product, and a good sales culture.

The overlap of these lists would get you close to your answer. Lastly, welcome to the war room, @sckuc

Mine.1) Large TAM
2) Great product market fit
3) Quota and comp plan are very attainable
4) Great tools in place for sales team - tech, training, leadership support5) Recent capital injection, strong balance sheet6) Currently growing team / hiring7) Industry I really enjoy working with.8) Remote / hybrid - personal time encouraged
You need to figure out what industry you want to sell from / to, and the size of the company. My company is relatively small, but I didn't want to be a number on a sheet. Could probably make a bit more at a larger company, but it'd be higher risk and less fun.
Ideally a company has a strong product that is a need to have given current market. They didn't over hire / going through layoff drama, and market fit is strong.
Each place you work will be a learning experience until you really nail down. Check out the Bravado TechSalesU, RepVu, GlassDoor, Linkedin, etc. Start reading job and company descriptions, then look up the interesting ones on RepVu or GlassDoor.

FYI- Not all RepVue information is accurate. I was hired at a company that RepVue said had a $100k average sale price and when I interviewed I expressed that I was in part motivated by deals at least in the $100k-$250K range. No pushback from the hiring manager on this. Imagine my surprise then when I started and learned that $1k was considered a "strategic deal." Backdoor interview the crap out of people who have the same title you'd be interviewing for.
