Deal opener or closer?

If you have the chance to choose between being an opener or a closer for a deal, what would be your choice and why and does it matter when it comes to commission ?

Opener's get paid a fixed (smaller) amount. Closers can maximize commission by controlling size of deal.

When I think of a deal opener, I am thinking it’s more on the prospecting side which isn’t my favorite part of sales.

Compared to closer, theirs presenting to the C-Suite which is my favorite part

umm closers normally get paid more so ill always choose that.

plus the job of an "opener" or SDR is not as exciting for me. give me the complexity of closing deals all day.
