Why is it so hard to find a good remote sales job

Can't understand, I have the experience and the want to find a good opportunity but everything that comes my way is not vetted at all or is a scammy offer. The ones that seem to be good never answers...

Any tips or help will be appreciated, thanks.

Because the world is opening back up and remote is not on an upward trend from companies at this time.

This is sad because I live in a shit hole where there's close to no 1099 position. Only base pay and cap commission.

Unless things have really changed, majority of the SaaS roles I see are still remote. You might need to travel, but I feel like Tech is still big on remote outside of a few of the big ones

its not the best market for job searchers right now. A lot of layoffs going on. Its still not horrible out there yet, but its not what it was a year or 2 ago either.

Its tough man. I get it.

You may want to get something for now (assuming you are unemployed) and keep looking for what you really want. If you are employed, than just be patient. It will come.

The majority of tech companies went on a hiring spree to load their talent pools and propel growth. The current macroeconomic conditions are now hitting the tech market significantly which is causing most of these top-heavy tech companies to lay off employees. So now we're adjusting to a new reality (post-pandemic) while having a saturated labor market for tech talent. Long story short... shitty timing. Don't give up though. Keep trucking and applying because there's still opportunity out there.

You're not looking at the right place, then. Job hunting is a tedious task for sure. Did you have a word with your friends / ex-colleagues who are in sales, if they can refer you in ? That route is less taken, yet more trust-worthy I guess.

I completely get it. It's difficult. I've applied to hundreds of jobs with not many interviews. I've proven myself more than capable of work.

How are you making recruiters/companies โ€œcome your wayโ€? Regardless, thatโ€™s often the case unless youโ€™ve become highly credible on LinkedIn, enough so that top companies are chasing you.

The only time that happened was earlier in 2022 (April, May, June).

But the best companies to work for take strategic outreach and prospecting. Ie, look for a job with the same creativity, tenacity, and personalization that you would a prospect in your sales job.

You would just send an email and hope for the best (apply online).

Study the company
Find the recruiters but more importantly managers of the position you want
Tailor your resume
Tailor your outreach
Follow up consistently
Ask for interest, not a job
