Me, It's possible. Check out my posts. It's easy to burnout though if one of the jobs is trash so find two great jobs where the workload isn't heavy.

I'd take a look at several previous posts here where a few have asked about taking on two jobs. SADNESSLieutenant is the only one I know who is chronicling his journey, but I know there were others who were asking if it was possible.

I'd just put out there that the overwhelming consensus was that it's not ideal for any number of reasons, among them work/life balance. The big reason that this is just not optimal at all is that if you're a FT employee, your employer has an expectation that you'll be working for them FT during business hours - and that most, if not all, companies expressly forbid other employment without permission and again, definitely not during business hours. This makes having two jobs a terminable offense at the very least.

I cannot imagine. In every position I've had as an EAE, there's been a week or two every quarter where I've had to drop everything to focus on one deal - making calls at odd hours, on with legal well after hours, hopping on a plane. Now think of having to balance that with the demands of job 2, and the possibility that your crunch time days and weeks will be the same time and impossible to balance and equally impossible to explain to either manager or executive.

Very few people here do 2 jobs. Is it because you not getting paid enough in job 1 and hence want another or something else?

What's driving this desire? I feel like most people don't even want to work ONE job..

It isn’t my desire. It’s a topic that came up with a colleague and I thought it was wild.

Ah. I'd never do it.

We've seen that it's possible, especially with SDR roles. But it's definitely not for me.

Money...if you do the math doing your all in 1 workplace will in best case scenario get you promoted so you will get a bump of what 20%? if there is a title change 30%?

Nothing compared making 100% assuming you are getting paid the same even worse case 70%. It also gives you a hedge against these unstable times.

You can get away IMO if it's an org that values results and doesn't count the hours.

At what personal/mental cost though? Money is important but so is sanity.

In some states they can and will prosecute you for corporate theft. Just an FYI.

That said, my sister has two remote jobs. One she is the director of marketing and one she is low level graphics person in marketing. She gets two full time checks. I honestly think she probably works 25 hours at one and 25 at the other. Having to make sure she is not booked for two teams meetings at the same time is that challenge.

of coarse who said the second job has to be a w2 job. You can work a straight commission job aswell. When you have a W2 job the risk is you can get fired. You can not get fired from a 1099 job. What are you going to do if your got laid off. If you had a apointment at 7 pm and could make a couple thousand dollars would you do it? Of course!! Thats what straight commision jobs offer. Scared money dont make money Be a hustler. Be unstoppable..
