How do I write a sales email?
How do I give a great demo?
Why don't I get job offers?
What do all of these questions have in common? They provide no context that we can use to help answer AND it shows you haven't actually put in any work yourself but want whoever you're asking to do it all for you. I expect this kind of behavior from a pre-hazed BDR or intern, but shit, a lot of y'all are seasoned professionals.
Some of the most common questions that I see in the War Room are how to get better at something or where to find some rudimentary fucking middle school level information. Now I'm not one to comment on these posts saying use the search bar because frankly, I think that's too much work. If you can't take the time to try to figure something out on your own first, why should anyone help you? HELP ME HELP YOU
Whether you want to be a VP, go from BDR to AE, or move from Sales to VC (Gross) being resourceful will speak volumes to how you attack any obstacle you come across. If you were to ask me what the most important trait is for anyone in sales it's resourcefulness. You might also be familiar with "entrepreneurial spirit". Same shit different marketing team. You're never going to have everything you need and a solid chunk of the time you'll be able to find the answers faster and in more depth than asking someone else to do the work for you. Aside from that, you won't piss them off and you'll build credibility.
Next time put in some upfront work and you'll look less like a useless cock.
Instead of "How do I write a sales email"
Try: "I put together this cold sales email for ICP in XX Industry. Does anyone have tips for how I can improve first touch response rates"?
Angry rant over and reminder FAILURE IS YOUR FRIEND.
