I’m working on replacing feature dumping with telling more customer stories. I also had to put a sticky note on my monitor so that I wouldn’t move my mouse like a madman!

This is great advice. One of the best pointers I got in my first SaaS job was to go heavy on discovery and keep the demo to 5-8 minutes max. 1-3 tailored points is all it takes. If I try to go deeper than that it’s usually a sign of bad discovery and I almost always lose the deal. I also used to work with someone in marketing who scrolled around like she was having a stroke EVERY FUCKING TIME she shared her screen and it was the worst.
