Account Managers: before taking a job, where can I review product ratings & market fit

As an AM, it will most likely be smooth sailing if it is not only a good product but also one that is in demand.

I am applying to jobs right now and I am scared that some of these products are buggy which will have complaining customers who will not renew.

What is the best website to check for product quality or customer reviews? One of Repvue's ratings is "Product - Market Fit" but I'd say only a small percentage of companies are even on there.

You can check sites like G2, Trust Radius, Gartner, and see what you get. Check Forrester.

RepVue and Glassdoor for employee reviews. Take it with a grain of salt though.

Like anything else - crowd sourced opinion can be just that - opinion.

Which Gartner and/or Forrester tool would be the best for this?
Also, looks expensive. Wish there was a free version.

When you are interviewing, you want to find the Gartner report or Forrester WAVE for the product you're considering selling.
So most companies will have a screen capture of the chart showing their position, if they're high, and a link to register and see the full report. That screenshot, though, can tell you volumes about where the company is. If a company doesn't have one, check their competitors, because if they aren't putting it on their website for whatever reason, their competition might have.
You'll have to do this on a company by company basis, but it's free, public, and you can get an idea of how analysts view the product/solution in relationship to whatever else is out there.

Cvent is the company I will be interview with.
For Gartner, did you mean the peer insights?https://www.gartner.com/reviews/market/event-technology-platforms/vendor/cvent
When I googled Gartner report + Cvent nothing else really came up.
I googled Forrester Wave + Cvent and this industry report came up but you have to pay $300 https://www.forrester.com/report/the-b2b-event-management-technology-landscape-q4-2022/RES178534?ref_search=0_1676067486472

So out of curiosity, I Googled "Cvent competitors" and clicked on the first one, and found a matrix right away but the URL is too ugly to copy here. G2 seems to have comparisons there as well: https://www.g2.com/compare/cvent-vs-vfairsAnd TrustRadius: https://www.trustradius.com/products/cvent-event-management/competitors
What I'd do is go to the competition websites and see if they've posted a snap of Gartner there (free). Nobody buys the full analyst report; they want the ratings and a matrix of where each company lands.

Depends what you are selling..is it SaaS?

Some options:
Second Gartner big time @Sunbunny31
Capterra or G2
Google โ€œyour product Redditโ€ - I have found some good insight and actual objections/ compรฉtitive intelligence from r/sysadmin. Itโ€™s great to uncover candid feedback from people that actually use your product and what they think about it

Read the case studies on the campany websites.- how many are there?- how old are they?- are the companies still growing? in business? cool logos?- does the company have customers speak at their events?
yes this is marketing material, but if a company can pump out nice case studies it means the product is working & customers are talking about it

When you have your LinkedIn account set to "open to work" and recruiters reach out all the time do you take the mindset of "I need to sell myself for this role" OR "The recruiter needs to sell the role to myself?"
