Any of these Sales Academies/Trainings Actually worth it?

Are any of these academies or sales trainers actually any good or are they just re-selling the stuff already published and available? I know someone who signed up for one (wont name names but one of the more prominent coaches with a strong LinkedIn presence) and paid almost 10K out of his own pocket and said it was garbage, an overpriced hype-man.

Looking to 4x my OTE in the next few years and need the skills, network and confidence to prospect and close the big deals needed to that. I'm almost 2 years into SAAS now.

I'd never pay out of pocket for a trainer. If you can get your company to pay then go for it. Otherwise just find good reps and shadow them to watch and learn.

The only sales trainings I've gotten are when the company bought it.   Other than that, no.  I'd never pay that kind of money for sales training.

And the last one...was targeted at the ISRs and very new reps, so I listened politely during the first session and then bailed to go make some calls.  It was good, but nothing I hadn't been through before.

Honestly, read the books that have been recommended many times.   They're a lot cheaper and will cover the same ground.

Those who can't sell go to marketing. Those who fail at marketing become LinkedIn influencers peddling sales training.

Hey, depends which particular skill set you're trying to improve.

My recommendation:

Cold calling/prospecting: Josh Braun's course or John Barrows. I've never done Barrows, but have purchased Braun's course - worth it if that's the skill set you're looking to improve.

Demos/Closing - I did just release a course on this (literally a few weeks ago) and am going through some iterations and additional market research. Not sure if this would be a fit if you're already crushing your demos (it's more for Aes that aren't, and it sounds like you're crushing it).

As part of my market research/proof of concept, I am offering free demo coaching if you're up for it.

I'd also recommend checking out a few books that will improve your skill set like "never split the difference" or get some copywriting books (very underestimated skill in sales).

There are definitely some good training partners out there. Ideally, if you're looking for specific skill development it might be worth it to go down the road of 1:1 coaching.

If your company gives a learning stipend I highly recommend using that to up your skills - you'll see a return on your investment.

This past year I allocated a third of my personal development budget to 1:1 coaching and it has been game-changing when it comes to my negotiation and closing abilities. I suggest checking out SNP Communications, I'm continually impressed by the level of hands-on support I've received.

Agree with some of the sentiment -- I would not pay out of pocket for one of these trainers, especially the ones with all the activity on LinkedIn, as the only thing you will learn is how to walk around a neighborhood without tripping or they will tell you how 'amazing' they are, and probably ask for some coin afterwards.

Lobby your organization to pay for a formal sales trainer if you can... a good Sales Enablement leader will be your strong advocate there. I have done JBarrows, a Value Based Selling program, and recently Win By Design (by Dan Smith). Most are saying the same things; however, I think I enjoyed Winning By Design the most so far as it did not seem as repetitive, and there were a few nuggets in there for someone that has been in the game for several years (always good to have a refresher).
