Anyone else use an e-ink tablet?

I just finally broke down and splurged on an e-ink tablet after the bazillionth time thumbing through piles of notebooks to find some old meeting notes. I'm curious if anyone else is using one, and if so, which did you go with (Papyr, reMarkable, Supernote, Boox, etc)?

Notetaking - what’s your go-to for client/work meetings?

Had a professor who made it mandatory you take handwritten notes and swore up and down about how it helps retain. I hated him. 6 years later i still know way too much about theology and take handwritten notes

Lol! I don’t know where I got it from, but I have to hand write things to remember it. I’m trying to transition from notebooks to the e-ink tablet to be more organized, but $500 later and I already miss the feeling of pen on paper 😩

Yes, I take notes pretty obsessively. It started as a way to keep my hands busy during meetings because of my ADHD, and then I started noticing that I was remembering more from it and then my notes saved my ass a couple times.

I was on paper notebooks but it was too hard to keep them organized and know what notes were where. I switched to a Rocketbook, pretty much a non-electronic version of a digital notebook (write notes, scan to upload, wipe off). After keeping that up and developing a process I splurged on a Remarkable. I'm very happy with the purchase but it's very expensive for just writing notes so you might want to make sure you will use it before you make the jump.

I'm old school because I retain the information better. What are your thoughts on the new tablet?

So far, not loving it. Tried taking notes during a client meeting yesterday and somehow erased the page about halfway through :( Might help if I read the tutorial first!

I was using one, till the time mom took it from me. She uses it for making grocery lists now. I'm back to the good ol' pen n paper. As long as mom's happy!

I use pen and paper, BUT if I had to make the transition, I would go with a remarkable.

I was about to buy the remarkable and then last minute went with a different one and am wondering if I made a mistake 😓

I have played with my friend's remarkable 2.0 and it was very close to writing on paper

Handwritten, but not on paper. I have a rocketbook (any erasable notebook would work) and so far this is the best purchase I've made. I just write, scan and save if this is important, and erase it at the end of the week.

No waste and still the same feeling as writing on paper

I hand write notes into notebooks. I retain the information more.

Some notes are far more legible than others, but the act of writing things down helps my recall. And if the recall fails…I have the notes to fall back on!

I find it difficult to type on another monitor and actually stay focused so I use handwritten notes.

Same! I also feel like on video calls it’s really difficult to tell who is taking notes on their laptop vs who is just shit talking on Slack during the meeting….so I always just assume it’s the latter 🤣

Exactly! Also if you can see me scribbling as you are talking, you likely will feel more respected.

Before I was in SaaS and running demos I was all about pen and paper, but I find it easier to have Google notes open on another screen and keep my hands on the keyboard/mouse when in meetings. \\\\\\

Also realized my notes were faster and more legible typed while I was in university.

I love this! My advice: Use one note. You can then cut and paste notes into an executive summary, recap email, put into ur CRM! Cuts down on double work. Plus if the deal stalls, u will always have quick access to the notes when they reengage. No way to organize notes over the years....

ive been using one for a few months now and its been a GAME CHANGER for me.

Its super helpful keeping my ADHD brain on track. but i LOVE my remarkable 2 tablet.

all notes are in one place, i can find anything, and it feels just like writing on paper which means i keep using it.

My hand writing is bad enough on real paper, when i try a digital notebook it goes full doctor mode and not even i can read it.
