I love the ability to work from home because I can do small tasks like laundry or dishes in between meetings and calls.  However, I will say that come Friday it is really hard to stay motivated and not leave the comp a little early to start happy hour. Other than that, I think setting a good routine is what can keep you motivated. Also sticking to calendar blocks.

I'll be honest I have been using those small task as a crutch to stay away from the computer but the house looks amazing LOL! and routine has been difficult to stick to.

I hate it tbh. I’m the type that needs routine and mine was based around going to the gym, the office and then home. I also have no social interaction with any workers anymore.

now it’s just gym when it’s not in lockdown and then work 23hrs because my computer is always beside me.

agree that the days/weeks are flying by with WFH too.

Couldn't relate more. The burnout is real.

It's becoming harder and harder to create boundaries for myself and stay organized when external factors like commute, reporting times, and happy hours don't tie me to a schedule. Time is flying and I feel like there would be way more to show for it if I weren't working from home.

I feel you, the higher ups at my company are also on PST whereas I’m on the east coast and they just expect an east coast start time with a west coast clock out haha

Yes! My territory is west and I'm located east, so I feel some of that same pressure. RIP.

I'm in alignment with that "sellout" haha. I feel all over the place and it doesn't help that my organization is not the most organized as well. I also miss the Coffee talk. Yeah the days are making me feel burnt out for sure.

I used to think my coworkers kind of sucked (some were great) but now I’m longing to see them in person again hahaha.

Its a love hate relationship for sure.

WFH is great for little things like dishes, eating in my own kitchen, and sleeping till exactly 4 minutes till my shift starts.

But I do struggle to stay focused when I am working and not go off and do something really quick. Or draw things out in the sense of I can always log back on after dinner and finish following up with these clients.

Time flys with it for sure and my dog loves the company. The dream for me would be like Mon-Wednesday in a office and Thurs-Friday at home

I love the Monday through Wednesday idea! But we are in the same boat but I push stuff off over and over! not good!

Omg that is me too. I get distracted very easily at home by random little tasks. Also because I know I have no plans after, I get distracted by slack/email or go off and read an article, and take longer to finish something vs if I was just in the office.

I am feeling it. I want to go back to the office in a hybrid set up where I can WFH 2 or 3 times a week but still go to the office. It can get pretty depressing after a while and it's tough to build better relationships with coworkers.

Agreed! Depressing asf, work relationships haven't been to hard to build for me but the motivation to stay going hard in sales has depleted without others around whether direct or indirect motivation.

My day is pretty much the same every day. Sometimes I wake up in the morning wondering if it's weekday or weekend.

It’s been weird going to the gym in the morning and then just being home for the day, but the extra time not commuting is nice.

I would heavily recommend anyone with a spare bedroom to work remote from there so the transition to the living room at night is more natural.

This CNN article wrote that on average people are clocking in 2.5 hours more per day. Like what @sellout said, it's easy to work longer bc your laptop is right besides you. During my off hours, it's too easy to check slack or email because you're just at home.

100% can relate to your feeling of days and weeks flying by.
For me, like with everything, there's certainly been some good and some bad.

I love being able to get small tasks done throughout the day, while also having the ability to spend more time each day doing things that I truly enjoy (since I'm able to cut out my hour commute)

With that being said, I do struggle to stay productive, and burnout has been a serious problem. Having a positive and collaborative environment is valuable in our profession, and unfortunately it's difficult to emulate that over zoom

It's part of the reason why I left my last gig. Mostly bad leadership but it had an impact.

My house is cleaner and I exercise more, but damn do I miss the social interaction offered in an office!

True that days and weeks are flying
With it, home and fam spending time possibilities are increasing
With a to do list and organised work structure plan, feels fine , for now as WFH

To the parents out there, how have you balanced your sales career with raising young children, especially during WFH in Covid? Do you feel more productive with WFH or less?
