I was having a moment at the Monterey Bay Aquarium's otter tank that reminded me of Cam in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. There I was, a grown ass man staring in to the kelpy depths when suddenly I snapped out of a fifteen minute trance. I had, nay felt this overwhelming calm - my pipeline was far away, my apps on the phone were deleted, and I was about to nosh on some overpriced food and coffee. Through all of that the otters, obviously, didn't care at all.
My kid leaned over to rest his head on my arm and I realized that's why I deal with assholes stringing me along and never buying. That is why I deal with a heavy-handed (and woefully ignorant) board. That is why I call and I email and I call and I email and I call and I call prospects. Just for a moment where I can be lost in a serene moment with my kid. He will never know how much that one moment will fuel me throughout the year.
I only just realized that the music playing in the movie is a synth version of a Morrisey song. "please please please, let me get what I want."
Get it Savages. But remeber why.
