Best book on Sales / Selling

I was doing some light reading with one of my many books on Selling in my personal Library and the question popped in my head...what are the top 10 of books on Selling & Sales.

Did a quick search. These popped up:

  1. SPIN Selling.
  2. The Challenger Sale.
  3. Getting to Yes.
  4. Fanatical Prospecting.
  5. Little Red Book of Selling.
  6. To Sell Is Human.
  7. Zig Ziglar's Secrets of Closing the Sale.
  8. Never Split the Difference.

I have a few of these (and yes, I read them). Haven't heard of some of the others. A few are classics and some are VERY modern.

I thought I would throw out a survey of the top books here, but post your favorite - and why it's your fave - below.

Personally, I'm a fan of GAP Selling and Eat Their Lunch. The first for the conception aspects of it and really breaking down the sales process. The second because it's message really hit for what I sell and my target market.

IMO, some of the best/most helpful books for salesfolk are NOT sales books. They are mindset/mentality and history books.ย

ie.
- The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Ben Horowitz
- Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell
- 48 Laws of Power, Robert Greene

Again, this is just my opinion. But these are my Top 3

I don't know about Outliers being applicable to Sales, and I haven't read the other 2.ย  Outliers is a very interesting book though.

What I got from Outliers, is that while most people believe you are inherently born with "Talent", "Skill", "Intelligence", etc. We all have the ability to foster talent and achieve success given the right circumstance and resources. Like I said, more of a mindset/history book.

I've been thinking of taking a course in this rather than just the book. Which would you recommend?ย

Get and read the book to see if you like the sales methodology and if it improves your sales game. If you think you need more help then buy the course.
