Cold call connect rates?

how has everyone's connect rate been? I've noticed it's been increasingly difficult to get people on the phone compared to previous years. 

what time do you typically call if you're having success? do you call direct or mobile lines? lookin for tips or commiserating friends.

It is difficult. There's no doubt about it. That's why an SDRs job is difficult. And when you get someone you have to be ready with what you're going to say.
And that is why so many companies spam email.
I never call a mobile first, unless (like myself) its their only number.

I do mobile, never had an issue with people not liking it. Plus with some people hybrid/fully remote, they might not have access to their direct dial

Definitely have noticed the trend the last 2 years in terms of connect rates. We’re reaching out to mobiles primarily. Before 2 years ago, the connect rate was ~30% for us (getting the person on the call). Now… we’re sitting around 3%.

We found there were 2 main reasons.
1) The carriers are being very strict on marking your numbers as Spam if you make a lot of calls. Obviously people are much less likely to pick up a call if their iPhone or galaxy caller ID comes up as spam.

2) changed phone behavior. We’ve all received those scam calls about the warranty on your car insurance, etc. people have become much more weary about picking up a call from someone who’s not in their contacts already.

We’re using a parallel dialer to help us get thru more dials in the same amount of time. We also separate our call lists by time zone to optimize around their lunch or after hours since they are more likely to have their phone on them.
