Cold call training

For all the current and past SDRs out there, how would you want your manager to train with you on cold calling? I have my methods, but I want to see what others would want their manager to do. Managing, training, and cold calling aren't one size fits all, so wanting to make sure I have multiple methods of helping

heres how I have done it:

1. check where they are at (if you dont know already)
2. explain the goals and different parts of the cold call.
3. Give them a script
4. role play each section
5. role play the whole thing.
6. let them create their own script
7. role play that
8. then listen back to calls every week to help improve skills

Only thing I can add is look at the metrics, sometimes maybe a rep has everything but just needs to up the dials.

for sure! i also hate it when managers would tell me "well just add 20 more dials a day" or what ever.

I hate dial metrics. I like Meaningful conversations. If you have X amount of meaningful conversations every day, you'll hit quota. Very easy to work backwards and find this number and it's not an empty metric

I do one, you do one. Then I do another one, and now you keep calling and I will listen and give pointers.

The best option after is to take all of the objections that they received that day and then go over them with the proper rebuttals the next morning before getting back on the phone.

I'll share mine... briefly

Firstly, I'll have a combind session to understand individual thoughts and weaknesses.

Training will be 1o1 so that I get to work closely with the SDR. Could be 2times per week.

And a weekly call with all the sdrs to understand what worked what not. It would be a fun session where we will make jokes on prospects response to lighten everyone's mood.

These are all great methods! The more you do it, the better you get, cuz practice makes perfect.
