Cold calling in the states

I have been an SDR for about 8 months now, but the geography I've worked in so far has been in the Asian Continent for a Virtual Event Company.

I recently joined a US SaaS based company as an SDR and now I have to cold call prospects in the states primarily along with other outreach methods.

I am facing some difficulties in terms of cold calling with:

1.) Script

2.) Voice Modulation ( People cut the call abruptly, reason can be number 1 or voice modulation as well as my accent is a bit towards the Asian side)

I'm looking for what kind of personalization should I work towards at to make them feel I am not there to sell but to help them out during the initial 30 seconds of the call and is there any platform wherein I can practice my cold calling.

TOTS - throw out the script

2 - "hey Steve it's Tim from Acme Corp, calling you about SaaS product" (pause). don't say anything till they respond.

they'll say, 'ok' and you then you get into the quick opener, 'noticed you guys were blah blah'

thats how you open a call. can't help w the rest since it wasn't addressed but that should get your open rate up.

That "pause" sounds like the game changer to me, I'll definitely try it out in the next call I'm going to do in an hour.

I might be being stupid (you can say if I am, in fact I had to edit this as my sentence didn’t make any sense) but I keep seeing ‘Acme Corp’ as an example of a company, am I just a non the wiser brit or is this an American thing? If so, what does it mean?

Be relevant, be present, and know your product well.

Also, have a consultative approach, people tend to open up more once they see you're trying to help. So do that also...

Take the most important parts of the script and bullet point them.  Then be yourself and ditch the script all together, hit the bullet points however it comes out.  You will sound more natural and less salesy, all good ways to keep the call going.  Good luck out there!
