Cold calling prospects during the weekend?

I've never done it and never heard of anyone doing it but with runaway...ya know running out desperate times call for desperate measures.

I feel like if anything people have worked on deals.

have you ever or your management team advised you to cold call to generate new biz during the weekend?

How do you feel about this?

I would NOT be happy if I was called on a weekend, so I don't do it.

If I were to receive a call on the weekend it would be an instant deal breaker…like instant.

Please don’t do this. Don’t ever normalize. I’m sure many of us have worked on the weekend, reviewed key deals, etc. But never would I call someone on the weekend.

There are some scenarios where you may need to. Selling POS software to restaurants may be one. But outside of those, it’s a huge no-no.

I was actually working today and yesterday, my recommendation for making the cold calls during the weekends is to reach out at the middle of the day not too early and not too late!
(2pm to 6pm is the perfect time for me)

It also depends on what you are selling. If you are B2C, this makes sense.

But for those that are B2B, nope, I would suggest not.

If I work on the weekend it’s to catch up or respond to customer requests. Weekends are sacred to some and you risk losing a possible opportunity if you bother someone on the weekend. I would say only cold call or reach out if you know it’s real or you have information the lead can’t wait until Monday.

Prepping for calls, yes… actually making the calls? NO! Weekends are meant for personal/family time. I wouldn’t do it.

Never cold calls on the weekend - I only make calls when my prospects are in their offices. And my target clientele are definitely 9-5'ers.

I have had weekend calls though - prearranged and mutually agreed upon. But I can only think of a couple over the years.

A sales call on the weekend would burn a bridge that could never be rebuilt for me. I had one once at 7.30pm on a Friday once and that was bad enough.

Do admin on the weekends if you feel the need to get ahead on your work to free up more time for an increased volume of calls during the week.

Weekend is a separate world for me and my family so I would try not to call if I am in B2B business.

If you're not B2C, who are you reaching on the weekends anyway? Are you selling to businesses that are open on weekends? If not, then what's the point?

I have been told to do it when I sold Payroll. I just ignored the advice since it needed the weekend.

I can understand making 1 call on a saturday for the huge deal you are working, but for new biz development, I am sure 99% of prospects wont like it at all

gonna be a no from me... like others have mentioned, this is a good way to get burnt out fast. I'm team 4-day work week, not extend the work week even longer

the only time i ever did this was when i was in financial services and was selling B2C.

it was a punishment for not hitting your meeting goal for the following week by friday.

the worst.

Is this a serious question? Put yourself in the others side shoes...
Out with the family...9-5 job...you call...is there any scenario in which you are not immediately added to the blocked numbers list?

I would a) not take the call and b) add you to the blocked list...
and I do try to be as gracious as possible to fellow sellers...

you shouldn't cold call on the weekends unless you sell residential solutions

I will say, I wouldn’t recommend a phone call, although an email scheduled to deliver on the weekend can be clutch.

Do you know what all your prospects get during. The week? 100’s of work emails. Your prospecting one will get lost in the shuffle with higher priority emails.

I personally take more than the standard 1-3 seconds to check out an email that I get into my work inbox on the weekend.
