Consider to Quit

I have 6 months on this real estate CRM startup. But things are going pretty bad.

I was in charge of the Enterprise project, but we failed due to the lack of the whole information knowledge about properties and market data.

I have a 3k deal paralyzed because the CEO couldn't give me the payment link approved.

I have been a pain in the ass the whole last week to him to send me the payment link.

I don't have forecast meetings and proper support on executive alignment.

I asked for help on deals but got little to no help.

What about me? Closed a little of SMBs but as it is a brandy new startup we don't have enough wins to consider myself "excellent"

I followed a LinkedIn advisor that sold Salesforce to REMAX US and I thought we can do the same on LatAm.

I thought we could do the same due to our product is great to related franchises.

My uncle who was a corporate insurance salesman told me to stay there to gather everything I can learn.

But I don't see the light in the end of the tunnel.

what you guys can recommend me to do?

Much easier to find a new job when you have a job, use it as a paid job search. Find a larger company that you can go in and learn sales process from. You're not set up success in this role in my opinion.

Not to say your uncle is wrong but keep in mind corp insurance and real estate CRM sales are very different things.
Real estate is going to be tough sledding in the short term (6-12 months). Ultimately, you know better than us.
But whatever you do DON'T QUIT without a parachute lined up.

Did you have a superior understanding of the LatAm real estate market before coming on board? An extensive list of contacts, friends, family in LatAm? Or did you think that you'd just be ballsy, make a few calls, and BOOM win the deals?

I can tell you EVERYTHING LatAm takes 2-5x longer than you think it will. Trust me, I know. And people only buy from people they know and trust - and not just from a couple disco calls.

I would advise you to take these past 6 month as a good learning experience and prepare yourself for your next job.

I am from LatAm so I can relate, people do business with people they use to know. Also I am a good hunter. I think that expansion projects must be tactical and have a core strategy that we didn’t have. So I think that there are a lot of things that align with this failure situation

Did I just read this?
"I have 6 months on this real estate CRM startup. But things are going pretty bad. I was in charge of the Enterprise project, but we failed due to the lack of the whole information knowledge about properties and market data."
You have a vertical specific CRM that does nothing for the vertical. Here's what you can do:
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
Ooh, slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
You just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

What do you mean about doing nothing for the vertical? Can you explain further?

"the lack of the whole information knowledge about properties and market data." Assuming this means no MLS access. Meaning the actual houses and their information. Without a live data connection, the CRM is as good as a pad and paper. Sorry.

Would be the same thing as a CRM at a surfboard shop that couldn't send prospective customers a picture of the surfboard that the shop was trying to sell.

We have an MLS but it’s internal, as it is internal right now we are struggling to fill-up with the properties

Buyer contacts agent, has seen a house and would like to go see it. Buyer sends a link of the property. What does the realtor send back?

"My uncle who was a corporate insurance salesman told me to stay there to gather everything I can learn."

Seems like you also have a drunk uncle in your family. Jokes aside. Indeed with most of the guys / girls in here – use it for a paid job search, go grab a job at a larger company and learn from there :-)
