New gig offering a corporate owned mobile device as an option.

I've always used my personal device.

Anyone out there have a dedicated work cell phone? Are there perks or not worth it?

I like to keep my personal devices for personal use and work device for work use.

I like separation between church and state for my laptop, but I don't want to carry two phones.

I've done both. There are positives with both. Remember either way they have access and can wipe your phone at any time.

Yes, the security aspects on the work phone make me not want to install any of it on my personal phone. What I do on my own time is my own business.

I've done it. Complete miserable failure with 2. New gig... do what you know how to do. Keep noise to a minimum. Congrats again.

I found carrying two phones to be extremely annoying. I assume they offer some sort of phone allowance if you don't take theirs?

perfect, I'd go that route especially if there's any travel involved. For those that carry a purse of some kind it may be a little more tolerable but two iphones in your suit pants is not a great look :)

Great way to lose a phone (or two)

I don’t understand why shit falls out of suit pants so damn easily

Are you someone who sets clear boundaries with work or are you someone when a prospect/manager sends you an email you feel you need to respond to it no matter the hour?

The latter, unfortunately...

I recently uninstalled work slack and email from my phone and it's helped.

I thought getting 2 devices could help create more of a barrier, but I'm worried with travel it might be a nuisance.

I didn't enjoy downloading a whole bunch of dumbass apps to install my work profile on my phone. I would take the two devices if I had the choice.

This is the one time that being expected to carry a bag everywhere is an advantage. I have two phones, love it. But here’s the thing: because they are both iPhones, text messages flow between the two. I miss out on Teams app and email only with my personal phone, so I have the option to read texts from the work phone (or not) when I’m done for the day.

I use one, I used to have 2. Honestly, it’s just a pain to lose numbers. Outside of legal requirements, it makes sense.

One device. Always good to have that personal brand if you follow.

I get allowance so I just take it. In one my previous companies, it was mandatory so I had no option but to roam with 2 pieces

One phone. When I cold call it’s my name on the caller ID instead of the company’s. My prospects and customers text me with questions and I can answer immediately. I submit the bill for reimbursement per the corporate policy.

One device with two numbers. I own my device and have a standard mobile phone number and then use OpenPhone for my work cell.

I've a dual sim phone with 2 numbers. One for work that goes in my email signature and 1 for personal use. Works well. The phone shows which sim inbound calls/messages come to and I can set up separate tones for each. I can even turn off individual sims and use one at a time if I prefer. Works really well.

Just get a Google Voice number.

Ask for comp on your phone bill. Never ever ever install any sort of software on your phone that allows access or deletion of data though. Keep the work stuff for your computer, from email access and etc to other stuff.
The phone is for calls, texts, images, send a video, basic stuff.

I pay for a second phone specifically to keep things separate. Helps me not check email when I'm not working.
Also eliminates any potential uncomfortable crossover between your personal life and work life.
The monthly cost is a pittance for the ability to entirely leave work at home with no way to check in if I'm on vacation, etc...
