Developing New Business for a staffing agency (perm and temp)

good day everyone, hope the week is going well so far.

just curious if anyone in the staffing industry has any experiences, tips, techniques, they would like to share.

i am 4 months in now, and I believe I have been doing well. it's an enjoyable field to sell in as there is a labour shortage here in Canada, And it genuinely feeds good providing companies with high quality candidates, and providing work to high quality job seekers.

just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light to help improve my process. (I don't do recruiting, strictly BD and AM). again, I believe I am doing well, however there is always limitless room to grow and to learn.

I spent a couple years in the industry and there were 2 areas where I was specifically able to find success:

1) Labor/warehouse workers. Turnover is high, but if you can keep a steady stream of people that are looking for jobs, you can hit up your local companies that have any sort of shipping/receiving and see if they need people. This is a bit more work that option #2, but once you lock down a couple customers, it is very consistent business.

2) C level and SVP's are a big sell. We were taking 25-30% of the candidates annual pay, so they sometimes could be pretty chunky deals, often times 100-250k. Little hard to earn the business as it is such a critical hire to the org, but if you can manage to place a few, referrals can get the snowball rolling.

When I worked in the industry, the biggest thing for winning against competition is getting them to interview better than the rest. When you have a candidate interview, get the list of questions they are asked, so whenever you have another person interview at x company you can give them the answers

I work a commission-based role for a digital marketing agency as an SDR (selling web design/development and digital marketing/CEO services), they suggest that I reach out to CEOs, founders and owners of small businesses, but this hasn't been working...(con)
