Discovery/Qualification Notetaking App - what do we want?

Over the years, the only constant working solution I have used has been OneNote for my discovery notes. Across the board with myself and (ex)colleagues, it's either:

  • OneNote - offline/easy to sync if you're a Microsoft house
  • DropBox Paper - nice for collaboration, but interruptions when you go offline are frustrating
  • Evernote - Not bad until they changed their free tier

I know Scratchpad has a great sales-focused note-taking solution that integrates your notes directly into Salesforce, but it's part of a broader premium suite of enablement solutions.

What are my sales savages using? And, in an ideal world, what would make a crackin' sales note-taking tool?

IMO, if I had a tool that automatically categorised my notes into MEDDPICC synced into the CRM without copy-pasting, it would be a winner.

I have snippets in HubSpot with my structure for the call built out. Fill in the notes and boom, follow emails are done before I hang up.

This is where it's at. I'm awful at building out the snippets but they're great when implemented.

Any tips?

i take notes directly in salesforce.

When i set a meeting in calendar it auto creates and event in Salesforce.
I take notes dirrectly in that event and link it to my opportunity.
Then anyone who needs to see it can. this has been the best option for me.

This sounds like a gamechanger - how come our salesforce instance doesn't do that (sends snippet to CRM manager)

I used to take notes in Salesforce until I realized I should be keeping a little black book of all my clients that I can take from job to job.

Pen & Paper, I retain better and then can transfer and clean up to SF.
Old school and redundant, but I don't miss anything.
