Do people still close deals on the golf course?

I recently got into golfing and got the ol' "all CEOs play golf" thrown at me quite a few times.

Selling a SaaS solution internationally, I cannot imagine playing golf with one of my prospects. Does anyone have different experiences? Any tips on inviting prospects to a game of golf?

Did you ever play golf with your prospects?

I think deals can definitely be closed on the Golf course, but it would have to be after the Demo is given if you're selling SaaS. Would be hard to present from an Ipad as you drive hole to hole. That being said, if you could pull off a demo from a golf course then you are the type of sales rep I want in my organization 🀣🀝

Hahahaha as much as I would love to do this my golf game is bad enough. Giving a SaaS demo between holes I wouldn't break 130πŸ˜‚

I feel like lots of deals still CAN get closed on golf courses. I think a lot probably still do. You might think β€œthat’s silly, how can I demo software or talk IT infrastructure on a golf course?” Β No argument there. We’re talking about CLOSING a deal. If you’re at a point where the last hurdle to cross is final negotiations with a CXO, then a golf course could be a great place to win a deal. Lots of execs play golf and it’s a great place to have them loosen up.Β
