Do you close deals because of your team or in spite of your team?

More of a general question, but I would like to understand how you feel about your organization.

Both. I close because I can and my team and product make it easier to do that. It's a plus.

Those are three very different groups. Having a great product is pretty much a factor for me in joining any company. Marketing...could be better, but seems to be improving. However, I think of Marketing as top of funnel - so if things aren't coming in and there's no brand/product/solution awareness, then that's on Marketing. And legal is a partner to get us to closing. If they're drawing lines in the sand they won't wiggle on or figure out, or if they take 2-3X as long as they should to produce redlines or responses, then they aren't being a partner.

So because this poll is here, is there an issue you're facing at your own company with one or all three of these divisions?

A. Love spite as a motivator
B. It depends on the situation which of the above is true.

C. I make my CRO/manny get involved when big enough so it gets done right and if I need tech help I slam open a CTO or lead dev's office/email box.

Both.

Sometimes itโ€™s me who does the work. Sometimes I lean more on the product/teamz

In spite. The company I am with, is NOT customer focus driven. They have internal processes that make little to no sense to customers, it's difficult for AEs to explain. The legal team is hyper non responsive, and when they do they will pick faults in documents that can easily be let go off. Finance team failed some audit last quarter, so now everything is strict with discounts. Only 0 ending numbers hahah to be given as discounts (10% / 20%: No 15%). Stupid everything,

Deal Story
Aries closed a deal for $30k to the Relationship Management Team department
It took five months to bring this deal to closure. It is an enterprise sized company and there were many tech, legal, and vendor hoops to jump. I was very frustrated at several points because of vendor...
Say congrats!
