Well, good thing is you have some money to travel. Take some time and go on a mini vacation? Find a cheap flight to somewhere warm and get some sun. If you live somewhere warm, then go somewhere cooler. Change your surroundings and it might give you a good refresher.

Yep, take a trip! There's no hurry in finding the right one. @coletrain said to think of it as dodging a bullet, which is 100% accurate. Hell, I got married at 23, divorced at 40, and THEN... I found the right woman for me. Right now, at your age, dodge the bullets and enjoy life and the ladies.

Did you show her your earnings statement?

Kidding. You're in a great place for mid/late twenties. I just turned 28 and am making six figures for the first time and feel great about that.

Listen, here's the deal. Everyone feels a degree of loneliness, you're not alone here.

You got rejected? Great, think of it as a bullet dodged! Why? Instead of taking a lot of time to figure out if something with her would work, she's out of the funnel and you get to focus on others that may be more invested!

$170k in NYC! You're doing great in a great city! That's something you worked towards so take pride there.

@antiASKHOLEhere has a good point. After the holidays, get out of the city and treat yourself to a nice vacation that you wouldn't normally do for yourself. We can't just be dragons hoarding gold all the time, save yes but make sure you are happy.

One thing I will say: if that $170k is because of you working long hours, perhaps making a little less while you reassess could pay dividends mentally down the line. Also go out to coffee shops to do some work if possible. Not sure where exactly you are but NYC has some great coffee shops.

Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Sorry to hear about the rejection, but when one door closes, another opens. You may not have met the right person just yet.

I'm going to also vote for you taking a trip after the holidays, particularly if you have some friends to go with and decompress. You have earned it!

Loneliness and disconnect is bad. Can you join a club or team to build out a network?

Stay in touch with friends more. Texting etc.

Thereโ€™s a study from Harvard that lasted like 80 years or so, and looked at life and health outcomes for men. The number one predictor of a long health life was friendships. Connecting is important!

Hey man, I'm in similar shoes as you, minus the clearing 170k.. Haha. I work remote and it can get lonely man, you need a hobby and something to keep you preoccupied.

And yeah, I just cleared 6 figures in my savings, you gotta think big picture my guy. There's a reason why we're busting our asses so hard. Chin up, a lot of people feel like shit around this time of year as well, myself included. You got this๐Ÿ‘Š

Embrace doing small things each day to make life more exciting than nailing your job. It can be as simple as going for a walk in a park and collecting rubbish along the way to throw out. Ride a bike and sing loudly, explore your local area and make an adventure of it.

Do you own a car? if so, go for a long drive and call all those people you need to and haven't caught up with in long time.

Lot's of little adventures end up being heaps of fun!

My friend, 170k and in your late 20sโ€ฆ you can literally build a nest egg and take 2 weeks vacation now go down to the Dominican Republic and you will have females clamoring over you.

My 2 cents: the ladies can't see the 170k, but they can take the hint if you start wearing tailored clothes, expensive shoes and a Rolex, for example -- need to broadcast your success a bit, is my advice
