Finding that next step

Hi Guys

Im an experienced Technology Engineer that in the past year transitioned into sales. I was laid off last week and I’m struggling to find that next step. I completed Tech Sales U and wondering if I should be doing more?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

A couple of resources you can use immediately :

Register on our Jobs portal. You can opt for both a full-time and part-time gig.

- https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/100-companies-hiring-for-sales-roles-currently-part-4-4 Companies: List of 100 companies that are hiring for salespeople right now.

I'd also suggest you reach out to your Tech Sales U trainers, assignment graders, or Tom himself if you're struggling to get a next step post-course completion.

I am hoping you keep coming back here and share your progress with us. Good luck, savage!

Then on top of applying you need to be trying to follow up like it’s a sales oppt. Find the DM/HM and get your resume in front of them

You had a data enrichment tool while in the SDR role, yeah? You need to reverse engineer your way into that kind of data on the recruiter. Then, be first, most convincing, most valuable and most frequent as you follow up. It's a sale you have to make. Wishing you all of the lucks.

My role as an SDR was really limited, they didn’t provide any tools. But I’m willing to do whatever it takes. What tools have worked best for y’all?

Hello Brendan and welcome to the War Room!

Definitely look into the links Gasty posted, and if you do find roles that you like, look at RepVue for $/Quota attainment, Glassdoor for culture reviews.

If ever you need anything else please don't hesitate, DMs are open.

NYT just ran an article that 30% of job postings are ghost postings for various reasons. Best bet, start linkedin messaging SDR leaders at orgs where they are hiring. SDR leaders in particular love this because outbound is something reps need to do in the role at the company. Get creative mention something from their LinkedIn SDR managers get a hard on for that shit.
