Getting reamed

lol so signed for 70k ote in August, promised promotion in 8-10 months, full bennies. As of 2024, had my job switch to $25/hr and my unlimited PTO taken away while never missing quota (January 120%) and being told I won't get promoted for another 18-20 months... FUUUUUUUUU this company I need out and I feel stuck. I literally can not live on this and I took a title reduction bc of the market in '23 spring. 

how do I move on y'all, how f'd am I for my next role being a "jop hopper" who took a lower position 😭

Tell a compelling narrative about how the business changed and expectations set were not met.

Be careful not to badmouth them, stay neutral and sound confident, but explain why you have to move on.

$20k drop in salary is rough. Start to polish that resume.

You have 2 ways to look at how you deal with this job on a resume -
(1) you do Year to Year (2023-24) so it looks longer
(2) in a couple years the job just disappears from your resume.

Titles are also a grey area on a resume, if yaknowhatImean....

Yeah I did a year in medical device and a contract med device ish 6 mos job while in school prior to switching to SaaS in July

This sounds like constructive dismissal, e.g. we want to get rid of people because xyz (economy or overhired) and would rather force them to quit instead of us having to pay them out. I would consult legal advice.

They just called it “restructuring” the founder and CEO is a lawyer so I bet they covered their ass but they are all known to be litigious as fkkkkk but I didn’t know that a year ago
