Hoping that if someone needed to hear this it helps

So,

I just got home from one of the saddest days of my life, A dear friends father decided to end his life and today was the wake.

To shorten the story it's likely there were many demons he was fighting for some time but what pushed him over the edge was stress induced from the job (in sales) that he was working at.

I am at a loss for words and although I hope that everyone is mentally as tough as possible I know that people need a word of encouragement from time to time. Life has so much to offer and the job that we work is never going to define us. People will never talk about how much money you made when your gone but what they will always share is exactly how you made them feel.

If anyone ever needs to shoot the shit with a random stranger my dms are open and monitored.

Peace, Love, happiness

Something my Dad told me when he retired at 55 (forced through years of services maximum): "Life is more than what you do. It's who you are and how you make others feel."

I just got laid off this morning. I have detached from my career now that I am a father, and I am likely getting out of tech. It's about my family, my friends, and my community...get out there and make a difference in how you feel about yourself, not how others perceive you.

Damn dude, sorry to hear about the layoff. It wasnโ€™t long ago you were so willing to help me. I would refer you so fast to my
company if they were hiring and I read you are getting out of tech. If I can be of help in any way, hit me up

Sorry to hear that. Mental health is more important than ever, we have to do more to make it less taboo and create a comfortable space for people.

Truer words have never been spoken. It feels as though there is a stigma behind talking about problems you have mental or physical and if I had the money Iโ€™d spearhead a safe space such as a community where there could be a support system and people to lean on. One day.

Oh man, I've seen too much of this in my lifetime and it never gets any easier to understand or to deal with. As for your friend, just be there for him/her, even if you don't know what to say.

I wish I could shoot the shit with you but I don't have the DMs. Take care!

Gosh. We're definitely in a role that carries a specific type of stress that's unique to sales. Having a place like the War Room has been huge for me in not feeling like I'm on an island. Glad we can take some time to vent, commiserate, and pump each other up.

If they ever get to DMs on browser, I'm happy to provide myself as a sounding board as well.

With so many Sales Leaders here, When a client say "im not interested" then continues to talk gives us business pain should we continue the conversation or end it there?
