How do I properly apply for remote?

I currently work fully remote and plan to continue this into my next job opportunity. As I've been reviewing open positions, I notice that most have a location tied to the role even if it mentions remote option. Do I have to stick with job openings in my area, or can I apply for jobs listed elsewhere? I'm sure there's legalities involved with the headcount in each state, etc, so wondering if anyone has insight. Honestly, I don't want to waste my time applying for jobs that I don't qualify for simply based on location.

That's something you will have to ask each company during the interview.

You need a remote first company that doesn’t care what state you’re in and never expects you to come into the office

Youre looking at hybrid roles

Just apply for remote roles and it does t matter what location they are posted in just interview

Sometimes it’s just a territory thing - they want you in that region so travel to customers isn’t horrible,

Yeah, a lot of them have location due to headquarters. Some ask to come to the office once a quarter. Just apply and confirm on the first call.

it all depends on the definition of remote. At my current company, we have remote roles for sales reps in territories that travel and visit customers. however, my previous company defined remote as anybody working from home, with or without site visits to customers. Therefore, make sure you clarify the role. All the best.

You typically can filter it, or the location will say remote. All other are hybrid

Filter roles on LinkedIn so that only full remote jobs come up and you will be golden. It sounds like most of the companies you have looked into are more of a hybrid role

There should be a filter for LinkedIn on remote, then you can apply anywhere

There are many companies that do remote but you will have to go to office at least once a while

You may want to ask on first calls or the screening calls to see if staying remote is a possibility.

Some job sites force companies to include a location. Make sure they're listed as fully remote and apply to anything that appeals to you.

I agree with @CuriousFox- ask during the (first) interview0
