How do you explain not hitting quota in a job Interview?

Coming from a company where 30% of reps hit quota. If you hit 50% you're considered a good rep. How do you explain not hitting quota in a sales interview?

I would use better language, like “I’ve been a consistent performer” or “in the top % of performers on team”….accomplish the same goal without having to touch on actual % to target

Maximise strengths, minimise weaknesses. You could use it as an example of showing learning and adaptability eg "I missed quota one time. I realised I had these gaps. By doing X Y and Z my results increased."

Why do you have to tell them you didn't hit it, white lies never hurt. If not just be honest and explain what happened.
