How do you leave an effective voicemail?

Keep it clear, brief, and concise. Do not pitch a voicemail.
"Hi it's funcoupons calling from company, was reaching out because (one to two sentence reason why,) you can reach me at number. If I don't hear back from you, I'll give you a call/send an email in (however many) days. Again, it's funcoupons calling from company, (phone number.)"
That's it.
Also be sure to speak clearly and slow enough that the person listening can understand you. Also, a lot of companies use voice to text systems nowadays so don't be mumbling or talking so fast the text reads as gibberish when your prospect goes to retrieve your message.

For the most part... don't. No one listens to voicemail. When was the last time *you* listened to a voicemail, particularly from a stranger? If you're forced to leave them b/c of management or KPIs i'd say "Brain from XYZ, sending you an email with my info"
I'm in agreement with this UNLESS you've tried everything and can't get through to the prospect. If I've emailed and called many times without any response I might as well leave a voicemail as I have nothing to lose at that point.
Unless I've spoken with the prospect before I never do. Find it takes way too much time to leave a voicemail for every prospect
I don't leave voicemails anymore. I found that to be more effective than leaving them.
