How do you make big decisions?

Whether it's a new sales gig, a potential new partner, where to move, a big purchase, or what to invest our comish check$ into, we're often having to make major decisions.  Maybe I'm biased but I feel like especially us sales savages.

I've heard of some techniques like:
- "if it's not a hell yeah, it's no"
- the whole body yes: heart, head, and gut have to be in it
- classic pros and cons list
- sheer gut/intuition
-looking for signs
- asking people who know you best, or just talking to mom and dad

honestly, all the above have failed me at least once each, but you live and you learn.

what's worked for you or what's your tactic?

Main thing I try to do, is make sure I am not making an important decision based off an emotional response or stress.

Having a clear head is the most important thing IMO

endlessly analyze my options until I have decision paralysis, culminating into an incorrect impulsive decision. Works like a charm.

basic divination -
class="Apple-interchange-newline"> Tarot card reading is a form of cartomancy whereby practitioners use tarot cardsto purportedly gain insight into the past, present or future. They formulate a question, then draw cards to interpret them for this end.
Most often, tarot is used as a form of cartomancy in which practitioners draw cards to gain insight around a situation. The 78 cards in the deck each represent a different energy.Through interpreting the cards that arise in a reading, people can make predictions or simply tell a story

Often shuffling the cards in the hands while asking a question and a card will pop out naturally, that card or cards indicates the energy of the situation and the overarching energy is at the top of the deck and the underlying energy underneath

so im in the THICK of this right now.

what i tend to do is: (when it comes to job changes)
- really think about WHAT is most important to me
-Try to determine are the things that im listing as important going to be important in the future?
- basic pros and cons lists
- intuition

i try to figure all that out, then go to my wife and lay it out, get her feedback and make a decision.

Haha yep! Flip a coin, but then pay attention to what your gut says. If the coin says option A, and you are not excited about that, then you know you need to take option B!

I work through it in my head and if its a big decision, I pray and let the Big Guy help me out.

I consult with my partner for sure and we jointly make a decision. It's all based on what we feel about the purchase and will it really add value.

by whipping out my wallet... then realizing I can or can't do it. If I can, a conversation with my wife happens. If I can't, then a conversation with my wife happens about how we can make that change.

With realistic optimism, meaning with some grains of salt. Without that, you're drinking the kool-aid and blinds you to the realities that may be there.

Weigh the pros and cons but at the end of the day, I've always felt that when you get that uneasy feeling in your stomach, it's probably best to pass on the opportunity.
